Natalia and Grigory prepare for their long-awaited wedding. Major Vlasov, now a lieutenant colonel, is ordered to lead a military unit in St Petersburg. The army leadership is certain that only Grigory can restore order there. When Vlasov learns of the impending inspection, he is forced to put the regiment in order and prepare for the wedding at the same time. And he has one week to do it all!
