At the beginning of April 1943, the command of the armed forces of the Third Reich began to thoroughly prepare a strategic offensive operation code-named «Citadel». The troops of the Central Front and the Voronezh Front were attacked by 2000 aircraft and 2700 enemy tanks. In mid-July 1943 the Soviet military launched the operation, codenamed «Rumyantsev». The Wehrmacht lost 30 selected divisions in the Battle of Kursk. The two-part film tells the full story of the battle that determined the outcome of the 20th century’s worst war.
